PVDC Coated Cellulose
It is a cellulose film (often called Cellophane) coated on both sides with PVDC to enhance the film's barrier properties. This film being compostable is an environment-friendly alternative to standard non-degradable polymer-based films.
Features and applications:
- The PVDC coating provides excellent barrier properties against moisture, gases, and odours
- The cellulose base is often transparent, allowing for clear visibility of the packaged product
- It provides structural strength and durability, while the PVDC coating enhances its resistance to mechanical damage
- The surface of PVDC-coated cellulose is suitable for high-quality printing
- Cellulose is a renewable resource, and while PVDC adds functionality, it's important to consider the environmental impact of both materials
- Applications: Used in food, confectionery, cosmetic and personal care, household products, medical devices, and pharmaceutical packaging
